IT'S LOVE ON THE BRAIN
Hello there, welcome to FSHN, the latest segment of my website. FSHN will be dedicated to... well, fashion. I'll be posting all sorts of OOTDs (a la Mind of Style, my main inspiration- shout out to Rachel Gorgas) from different seasons, looks, and occasions! Don't worry, your eyes won't get tired of seeing my clothes. I'll be posting about looks from my friends and colabing with other fashion bloggers to give you guys a diverse collection of fashion posts. You'll remember that I posted three FSHN posts in the past. Those have been re-uploaded on this thread. I've really enjoyed writing about clothes and thought that this new addition would be a dope part of Joseph's World. This is exciting af.
And now, without a further a-do...
ANTI WORLD TOUR
For a long ass year, Rihanna put out a bunch of random singles and postponed the release of the album they belong to. Remember that? It was FourFiveSeconds, Bitch Better Have My Money, and American Oxygen. And then, she FINALLY dropped it by surprise.
AND ANTI WAS BORN
When my boyfriend and I first heard this album, we immediately fell in love. We knew we had to see Riri when she came to San Jose. And so we bought each other tickets as Valentines Day Presents (cute huh?) for her show on February 28. THEN RIHANNA MOVED HER CONCERT TO MAY 6.
So for months and months, we waited for badgalriri to come bless us with her beautiful Barbados self until the day finally came. Even though we were dead because the concert was literally on the last day of finals week (oh, and Rihanna was 2 hours late and Travis Scott didn't even open to perform), RIri gave us a great time.
But what is a concert without proper OOTDs?
We kept up with Rihanna's phresh looks and came up with these.
Austin and I found this tee at Forever 21. We thought it was perfect because YAAAS Rihanna. It's a fairly simple white tee with a black box with text, so it goes with a lot of things. Rolling up your sleeves puts on a little edge to your look too.
Around his waist is a red and black classic flannel from Cotton On. We found that the shirt and jeans were missing a little more BANG so we decided to bring the 90's back. BONUS: When you get cold after the concert waiting for your Uber on the street, you get to wear it and be warm.
You'll remember Austin's jeans and shoes from our TASMAN post. His super skinny acid wash jeans are from ASOS, while his shoes are classic yet worn out (in a good way) navy blue Chuck Taylors from Converse . On his wrists are some beaded bracelets that go well with this outfit. #accessorize.
Speaking of, you'll notice his cute Lenon-style round frame sunglasses. We picked these up from Spencer's.
He's hot af, I know.
And no for my look. I know I haven't done an OOTD here for a few months, but today I'm finally showing off this look I am proud af of (you know because I use pics of it as headers all over my site now lol)
For Riri's show, I went with this dope Coachella-ish hippie ensemble. The shirt I am wearing is a HUF tie-dye via Zoomiez. Over it is a blue denim jacket I picked up more than a year ago from Forever 21.
I decided to wear a white handkerchief-patterned bandanna around my forehead, folded sweat-band style. Concerts can be kinda hot so using one of these babies is fashionable AND efficient. This bandanna is from Spencer's, but you can probably pick up a similar one in a lot of stores.
The pants I am wearing are solid black skinny jeans from H&M. When you're wearing a lot of eye-catching clothes on top, you wanna keep your bottom half a little more neutral. I picked this trick up. So if I were to wear a solid colored top, I could wear denim so the patterns wouldn't clash. Great trick for the eyes! On my wrists are black beaded bracelets, also from H&M.
Here's a full look. You can't see them well (@Austin) but I am wearing this dope pair of shoes from Chalk. I can wear these shoes during formal events AND for casual looks. I love them.
If you look closely at my glasses, you'll see Austin's pissed face taking pictures of me lmao. I had to force him to take pics of my OOTD. The glasses, like his, are courtesy of Spencer's (Buy One Get One 50% Off, sales are God's gifts). The frame is a little more round than Austin's. My optometrist stylist told me once than since my face is wider, I should get wider-framed glasses to compliment it. Likewise, if you have a more narrow face, smaller-framed glasses are good to have!
Seriously I'm in love with these. Also, in the pic above, you'll see Austin's reflection taking pictures of me HOLDING MY DAMN CAMERA WRONG. Then you'll see my hands trying to teach him how to hold it properly. This picture is blurry for that reason. I love him doe.
And that's it for today's look book.
We had a great time at Rihanna's ANTI World Tour. 'Til next time, stay Phresh off the Runway.
