SOMETHING NEW TO START THE NEW YEAR
So today I did something kind of different. If you don't already know my partner in crime and best friend Brandon Fong, then you're missing out. He's a rising musician from San Diego. We decided to spend our winter break together in Hercules wisely and take some pretty dope pics at Walnut Creek. And thus, I present, my first #FSHN post, #Brosef.
To be perfectly honest I had no idea how to write this because I am not fashionable unlike my friend Rachel Gorgas of The Mind of Style, who happily helped me write this post up. Thanks Rach! Make sure you visit her site for some ACTUAL fashion blog posts.
And now, for our style...
Today, Brandon decided to go with a white and gray patterned varsity shirt from Cotton On, and a solid gray hoodie from Zine. I remember distinctly that Brandon has owned this hoodie since I've known him. There's nothing bad with owning clothes for more than 8 years, boys and girls. As long as they work and look great!
His black jacket is from Buffalo. Brandon has always been edgy with his style. The gray, white, and black colors from this winter ensemble is very classic. Brandon decided to accessorize with a jade crucifix necklace on gold chain and a silver ring necklace to accentuate his outfit. On his wrist is a classic white G-Shock watch.
Brandon is wearing classic denim courtesy of Pacsun and a pair of isolated waterproof boots from Wolverine. NOTE that these are not Timberland boots. Don't call them that. He gets pretty mad. But he did get street compliments!
Overall, I yelled at Brandon to put on something that looks pretty dope last night, and he delivered.
Okay, now it's time for my ensemble.
My classic light denim button-up shirt is from H&M. This is a staple item for all you guys out there, as one can simply pair many looks with this classic piece.
I decided to wear black skinny jeans from Levi's with this outfit, and brown leather shoes from Chalk.
The forest green jacket I am wearing is from Forever 21. I originally wore this jacket as part of my Green Arrow ensemble for Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in November, as you might remember.
I don't look great in that picture but Stephen Amell does! But doesn't he always? The oily face is the result of wearing oil based make-up for about 5 hours. Not a great idea. Amateur cosplay is not easy.
Fun fact, the scarf I am wearing was actually a Christmas present from Brandon more than a year ago. It's a plaid scarf from H&M. Good for you scarf lovers. It's extremely warm and soft.
So there are two versions of this outfit, as you will notice. I was very unsure whether or not I wanted to wear this scarf, because I thought that it looked, as Rachel described, "funky". So I called up all my fashionable friends- Mahal, Franky, Rachel, Tiffany, and my mum. They all agreed that while it does look kind of weird, it's a good kind of weird. So I decided to bring it and take some pictures with and without it. You'll notice the attitude change with the scarf. I felt naked without it. Also, spring is coming, so there's that transition. Scarves are in season.
For all you Bay Area folk out there who want to take pictures, Walunt Creek is a pretty okay place to take them. While we did not find much spots to take pictures, there are lots of shops and restaurants to keep you occupied (or distracted) during your photosesh. Also, lots of judgmental eyes. Have y'all not seen anyone being photographed before?
Now enjoy pictures of me pretending that Brandon was the paparazzi taking pictures of me through the bushes.
Anyway, that's it for my first #FSHN post. I have lots of fashionable friends, so I might do more of these in the future with new people and locations. If you want a real post from an expert fashion blogger, visit The Mind of Style! I will try to do men's fashion posts, but unfortunately, I am not model material as I am like a solid 6 and 5'5 on a good day, so I might do pics of my boyfriend or something. Who knows. See y'all soon!
