I WANTED TO BE A QUEEN SANDWICH, BUT THERE WAS NO TIME TO THINK ABOUT POSITIONS.
First of all, my face was so greasy from the $3.50 Hot Topic face grease I smeared on my face, so please excuse the oily complexion.
Anyway, me and my friend Brianna Franklin have been planning this for so long. Ever since I introduced her to the Arrowverse, she has fallen in love with the characters and series the same way I was taken into this world in 2012, and have failed to escape my own island ever since. So when we heard about Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in San Jose, we were quickly struck by lightning and decided that we would fail this city if we didn't go.
Since your boy is on a college budget, I only attended one day. Too bad! As much as I wanted the entire Oliver Queen ensemble, there was no way I could afford that outfit, so I decided to go a little shopping and buy a green jacket that looked similar AND wearable on a non-convention day. Hence this very fashionable Arrow-esque jacket! (Besides, have you seen Stephen Amell's body? I would not have done that character justice)
SO... Brianna decided to dress as Thea Queen / Speedy, using my vintage middle school red hoodie to create the ensemble:
Sometimes, vigilantes have to take public transportation too.
At the end of the day, I got to take pictures with both Stephen and Willa which was the best 30 seconds of my life. I told him,
"Hey, we tried to dress as you, but this is the college budget version."
And he says, "A for effort!"
BAM. Oliver Queen approved of my college spending.
Enjoy these random pics of the convention:
I had the best time ever, and will likely go for the next couple years. I was so happy to be part of the first ever for this event! Make sure you visit their site or check out #HVFF for more pics on social media!
