2015 has definitely been a life changing year. I fulfilled my promise to my Herban Movement team and won two out of four awards at the JA NorCal regional competition, and then took them to the JA National Student Leadership Summit in Washington DC to win the Microsoft Social Innovation Award. A few months later, I returned to the city with one of my best friends to meet President Obama and key members of his administration to celebrate National Entrepreneurship Month. I've been on live TV, graduated from high school, began my college career, started working for a new non-profit, and fell in love. It's been a crazy year. But there are some people I want to thank.
To the friends I've met through Junior Achievement- Adam, Rachel, Madison, Zach, Sam, Olivia, Hope, and everyone else that I might have missed (there's literally a lot of you y'all are the best) and the staff who have helped me one way or another, Linda, both Emilys, Kathy, Gregg, Sharon, Stephanie, Ed, Mr. Jack Kosakowski himself, and my den mother and mentor, Stacey Martin-Bonaduce, thank you for giving me the best and most memorable times of my life.
To my Herban Movement team, especially my officers- Mahal, Tiffany, Angelica, Gabby, and Alex. You are the most badass group of people I have ever met. Thank you for being my family when I needed one.
To Michelle Cho of Gladeo, thank you for giving me a new way to channel my passion. To the members of the Gladeo League, you guys are the best. I look forward to working with all of you.
To everyone from WCCUSD who gave me my education. Thank you for influencing me and teaching me the way.
Thank you to everyone I've met at Cogswell, especially Siera, Austin and Kalyn, for making the beginning of my college years amazing.
To all my friends, especially my closest friends- Brandon, Brianna, Gabby, Tiffany, Mahal, Camille, Rachel, Franky, J-Dawg, and Carla. Thank you for being my rock.
Thank you to Austin for showing me a new light. You are the most amazing person I've met.
Thank you to my family, especially my parents. My mom, for pushing me to the extreme to change, and my dad for catching me when I fell.
Lastly, I would like to thank you. You are sitting here reading the words that come to life from my mind to your screen. Thank you for reading this, or any of my other posts. You are the reason I type.
Thank you to everyone for making 2015 such a life changing year for me. Cheers to 2016- may this be a great year for all of us. Do something crazy. Join a Zumba class. Start your own blog.
