HELLO CHILDREN OF THE INTERNET
It is currently 11:18 PM on a Wednesday night and I just powered through homework and I am now enjoying a bowl of Mac & Cheese while blogging. But I haven't blogged in so long and I thought this post needs to be finished! I've been trying to type this for days now. SO let's walk you through what I've been doing while I've been MIA.
WHERE HAVE I BEEN?
First off I am so sorry that I haven't been able to update my blog for awhile now. I have been doing a lot in my life lately! That plus I didn't have wifi in my apartment (now I do - kind of!) so I couldn't blog (I could have blogged from my phone but that's awkward) so now I will be walking you through what I have been doing for the last couple of days as I get settled in San Jose!
First of all, packing was a month long commitment. I had to pack, unpack, and pack again, because I kept packing unnecessary weight that I would not need. I wanted to bring all of my books, but it was about 30 pounds worth of literature I did not want Camille and Jeannette to carry. Even with the unloading of unnecessary weight, I still had lots to bring. Loading it to Jeannette's car was like a game of hardcore RAV4 Tetris.
It also didn't help that the elevator was about 5 miles from my apartment. Imagine those two lugging all my baggage across the figure 8 halls of 121 Tasman (then we found out there was a CLOSER elevator that didn't require us to struggle as much).
But we pulled through. Here are some pics of my room! More pics of our kitchen, living area, and balcony coming soon!
121 Tasman is about the BEST thing that's ever happened to me. First of all, the school is literally a 2 minute walk from our apartment. Second, there is a pool, a WiFi lounge (where me and my friend-slash-apartment-mate Sierra are chilling doing homework right now- I keep procrastinating with this post and moving around), a ping pong table, video conference room, indoor dog park, outdoor fire pit, barbecue area, and a 24 hour gym. YAAAS.
HOW IS COLLEGE?
What I love about Cogswell is that it is essentially, how an administrator described, an "oddball school". Everyone is so artistic and supportive. The hallways are filled with laughter, laptops, and students on their 3DS' playing Pokemon. My classes are also really great. My earliest class is on a Monday around 10, and for the rest of the week they start around 1:45, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. Plenty of time to do this!
WHAT ELSE IS NEW?
Well I've started a new health regimen. I have completely replaced my rice with salad, my sweets with fruit, and blended my fruit smoothies with kale. I also add kale to about everything. I've limited my eating habits to minimize my intake, and make use of my free gym every other day. I've set my mind to changing my habits to benefit myself in the long run!
Well, that's what I've been doing. I'll be editing this a little bit to add pics at some point so y'all can see the rest of my apartment and the complex! But I'm going back to Hercules this weekend to relax a little bit.
A friendly reminder than in less than a month I will be on the American Graduate Special on PBS live from New York City! That's October 3rd. Mark your calendar, and clear your DVR.
See y'all soon!
