Geez, have I really not blogged since December?
The last time you read an original piece from me, I was in a bad state. I was in the process of moping. I recall that time as a low. It felt like I was floating in the cosmos, motionless, waiting for something to end my existence or to start free falling back to reality. It's been nine months.
I don't think I have been this happy for a long, long time.
My life just feels so... content. I have good grades. I have awesome friends. My career is blooming. My family is supportive. If my skin was glowing, I'd be happier, but I have to say... I am satisfied. That's a lot to say for someone who's doing 3410948219039210831.333444 things like me.
I've been wanting to get back to blogging for awhile. But every time I tried, something else came about and I had to put my idea on the back burner. It was like the universe's cruel joke of separating me from what I love.
Now, I don't want to make promises of blogging regularly. God knows what I am doing these days. President of Cogswell ASB. Editor-In-Chief of The Cogswell Chronicle and VP of The Cogswell Collective (both organizations I've found). Internship Program Director and Creative Director for Gladeo. Ambassador for Cogswell' Admissions Department. Mentor for the Jedi Mentorship Program (helping new students figure Cogswell out, no lightsabers involved, unfortunately). And many, many, many, many more...
But today is a special season. Two years ago, I was inspired by a girl I had just met to start my own website. This was supposed to exist as a release for my inner-self and a way to connect with multiple people at a time. Since then, I've neglected Joseph's World. I have to admit, it felt empty not having time to blog. Every time something cool happened, I wanted to blog about it or whip out my camera.
Lesson of the year: Make time for what you love.
Like I said, no promises! But I do want to make this more regular. That said, my site will be undergoing some changes. I will be focused on writing content about my life, fashion, and photography. The literature and magazine aspect of my site will be archived. Thank you to everyone who contributed and spectated. It meant a lot that you read my friends and I's story, but I want to focus on parts that I can definitely create content for. I know I am blogging with a lot of uncertainty, but one thing is for sure:
I am forever grateful to everyone reading about my life.
Two years now. It's been that long. Really! Can you believe it? I have some people to thank:
To all my friends from Hercules - I am sorry for never being around... but I'm happy that I can still be a part of your lives.
To my friends at Cogswell, especially from ASB, the Chronicle, and the Collective - thank you for letting me grow as a person. College is hard, but it's easier with people like you.
To Paola Valenzuela for these amazing pictures for my website's second birthday and branding. Like you said: gangsta
To all the staff and faculty at Cogswell who have supported me through these years, thank you for your wisdom and guidance.
To Rachel Gorgas- I love you with all my heart. Thank you for inspiring me to do this.
To all the mentors in my life, especially Michelle Cho - thank you for every lesson you've taught... I would not be the same person if it weren't for you.
My parents and my sisters- I am sorry your workaholic son doesn't get to see you a lot. I love and think about you all every single day. I long for the days I can come home.
And lastly, to the readers of my blog- I hope my life touches yours, one way or another. Thank you for allowing me to share my stories.
So... where have I been? Here's a quick catch-up:
Happy 2nd Birthday, Joseph's World! 'Til I blog again.
